Life's Scenic Diversions ~ Read Exodus 3:1-12
Along the picturesque trails on the coast of Nova Scotia are quaint fishing villages and spectacular rocky points jutting out into the ocean. The signs that direct visitors to these side trips label them as "scenic diversions." These scenic diversions sometimes turn out to be more beautiful than the trail itself.
Oftentimes the movement of God's grace in our lives takes the form of unexpected "scenic diversions." In the course of keeping the sheep, Moses stopped to observe a burning bush that led to an encounter with God and a mission to perform. For us the unexpected encounter may be a verse of scripture we have read a dozen times before that suddenly speaks to us with new clarity and insight. It may be a person who passes through our life and whose gifts and graces touch us and deepen our relationship with God. It may be a wrong turn or an impulsive trip that reveals some new beauty or discovery that enriches our life.
God's scenic diversions are many-when we open our hearts and minds to receiving them.
